A few days before New year I read on webpronews.com about Ghost Tweeting. You see, for me it was quite amusing how some folks were upset when their Guru admited that he had hired people to Tweet for him. Gee, but isn’t this quite obvious for most people, and than especially when we are talking about known and influencial VIP’s that they are definitely not going to spend the majority of their days in Tweeting themselves?

For the users of Twitter like myself – I am visiting Twitter very sporadically, not to say – almost never. I simply do not have the time, nor am I visiting any other online community such as Facebook, or even Flickr that often. If there were financial interests involved with the Web 2.0 – than I guess I would hire a Ghost Twitter myself, and will make sure to explain to him, or her what matters to me, and how to make the posts without me needing to delete any. Obviously there will be many thinking otherwise in regards, and am really curious to read such comments.

Yesterday was really a bad day for all the fans of Patrick Swayze, and for his family and friends. The actor lost the battle against cancer and left many with broken hearts. My favorite of his was the “Ghost” movie, and I remember how touched I was, and how much I cried while watching this hit movie. And not once but I think three times in a week or so as I couldn’t get enough of it…

At times I wonder how many of these type of post will be here on totally-useless.com in the end, when I will stop posting one day… Not that I am planning to stop any time soon. It’s just that in the past few months I wrote about several stars that passed away, and it’s such a pity that science still hasn’t found the cure, or cures for all type of cancers.

This video is from Patrick Swayze while dancing with his wife Lisa Nieme to the song All The Man That I Need as a salute to multiple award winner Whitney Houston in 1994. And it’s such a beautiful expression of the Love between Patrick and Lisa, that it made me cry…
Nevertheless at least she has the memory of it, and maybe, just maybe, his Ghost movie might recount what his wife will be experiencing shortly…

Last Friday I came across a blog post that made me cringe… Was it because of it’s simillarities with my earlier post: Internet = Freedom? , or not?

And yes, it is very easy to write libelous things about people online, especially while being behind an anonymously set up blog. This does not make it correct however. And because of it – I think it was OK that Liskula Cohen won the lawsuit against Google, and learned the identity of the anonimous blogger.

Do you agree with the statement that bloggers can write whatever they want as long as they are transparent and declare who they are? My personal opinion in such a situation is that yes, if someone wishes to call someone else “names”, than the writer should let it be known who they are. If not, after the precedent created by Liskula Cohen, there is a big chance that the person that has been written about could win in such a lawsuit, and the anonymous writer will be in trouble – to say the least…

There is always the other side of the coin of course, but today is not the day to go deeper in the subject…

The following video of a mother which is literally dragging her child across a Verizon shop’s floor on leash is already a sensation on the Internet. What do you think? Is this a form of child abuse as some are claiming, or is it highly overblown according to you?

My own opinion about it is – not something that I will ever do even if my child is enjoying it.

Today on Blog Catalog the owner of GoSmellTheFlowers.com posted about the theft of his just mentioned domain name. And you could read his story and how this hostage of his domain name happened on his GoSmellTheCoffee.com site.

If you take the time to go and absorb the story and comments on GoSmellTheCoffee.com – you will probably learn a lot about what not to do in order to protect the ownership of your domains. And you also might ask yourself if it was necessary to go public with the private info of all concerned in this matter? The answer is an obvious “No” – for me at least, as one never knows how many scammers and folks with bad intentions are reading all of it.

And while the story was unfolding, a newly written article by Michel Fortin – Don’t Be Transparent, Be Authentic Instead – was published on his blog, that goes about transparency and how much of it is more than enough. A highly recommended post and definitely one to read.

Susan Boyle did it again and she is the #1 and up for the Semi Final of Britain’s Got Talent. For a moment my heart stopped beating when she had some tough time in the beginning of the song, but she got herself back soon enough and did it again – the angelical voice of Susan will probably earn her the Final as well…
