Will you watch the shooting stars tonight?
August 12th, 2007 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: 2 ]

Colorado Meteor, originally uploaded by Mr Geoff.

Probably most of you know that between last night and tonight we could see many meteors, or shooting stars. If of course the skies are clear where you reside, and I hope and pray they would be tonight, as rain is expected and there is not much chance that I will be able to see or make any photo…Sad, and I am really very sad about it. Not only because I will not be able to make a wish :) , but also because I am longing to be able to make a nice shot of the falling stars. See this wonderful picture that has been taken in the mountains of Colorado! Awesome, and all my compliments to the maker of it! Here in The Netherlands there is too much light around, and I will not be able to take such a beautiful one as he has, even if the skies are clear tonight, but why can’t we still make wishes :) Enjoy your Sunday night and wishing to all of you many, many shooting stars, and I will talk to you soon

The train on Technorati for us all :)
July 21st, 2007 under Uncategorized, Useless rants. [ Comments: 2 ]

On one of the blogs that I am reading today I found a way to get higher rankings on Technorati. Lylly Feel Happy writes about the Technorati Train and I decided to follow her. Thank you Lilly. This is really an easy way to get more exposure and is definitely most useful as opposed to totally useless :)

Please follow the guidelines and be fair, by doing it - all great things will start happening after you do your part!

IF YOU WANT A HIGHER TECHNORATI RATING - TELL ME! GET ON BOARD!

It’s easy and worth it. If you want to move up in Technorati there are 2 ways to get there: gaining massive amounts of links to you from other blogs, or getting the most favourites. One thing you can do is get lots of favourites who favourite you in return! Before you start you may want to grab this supercool autofave program from Eng Tech. All the people who have favourited you, this automatically favourites them in return. No more excuses for not returning the favour! Automatic Technorati Fave program the coolest program ever! Finds fans that have favorited you and automatically favorites them!
grab the program here [2.4MB].(Reword the following paragraph a little. The Lilly link should be changed to link to who you got this from {Thefortunes}.Move the 5 new faves (one is you) to old faves below Gary Lee.

Add 5 new people to new faves. Each name linked to their blog, and Fave the site is the link on their technorati fave widget on their site. AND, name THE WHOLE POST DIFFERENT FROM MINE!)

The time has come for me to get up on the Technorati Fave Train. I was added to the Technorati Fave Train by Janice. The Train was started at Gary Lee.

So, do you want to ride the train? Here are the rules:

1. Write a short introduction paragraph about what how you found the list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.

2. COPY the Rules and ENTIRE List below and post it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can accessible for, go ahead and change the titles of the blog.Just don’t change the links of the blog.

3. Take “My New Faves” and move them into the “The Original Faves” list.

4. Add at least 3 Blogs that you’ve just added to your Technorati Favorites to the “My New Faves” section. Remember to also add the “Fave Me” link next to your new blogs (i.e. http://technorati.com/faves?add=http://www.yourdomain.com)

5. Add Everyone on this list to your Technorati Favorites List by clicking on “Fave the Site.” (Please FAVE EVERYONE on the List prior to posting the list or a Kitten will Die Alone in a Dark Alley Tonight). Those who want good karma will fave you back. If not, you will for sure get the benefits of faves from the bloggers who continue this list after you.

Have you found out how totally useless info searches are?
January 5th, 2007 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: none ]

Here you can read an article that I stumbled on Yahoo!News.
The article started the thought about how easily the search
for news online becomes useless when you click on a link
and when you get to the site - there is nothing to be found.

Either the site has been created for the search engines only,
and not for the people looking for news, or totally unrelated
but very well paid key words has been used by the creator.

The people that are not a web-master themselves do not even
know how much disdain such sites produce on forums visited
and used by web-masters, like the Digital Point forum.

Such sites, made especially to earn money from Google’s
Adsense program, are called MFA sites. Personally I do not
approve or disapprove with the above mentioned sites, the
fact is though that when in search of info and finishing on
such an useless site without getting the info needed, but
having clicked on an ad and finished on yet an other such
site, believe me, you get frustrated and not happier from
an other lost 30 minutes or an hour and more.

Time is not only money. Time is the only asset we posses
that is always getting less instead of more, the longer our
life becomes. So, we should try to make it as useful as
possible, and not waste it in totally useless activities, such
as the searches for info, that are spead around or not even
where we think they’ll be.

Be blessed with a very relaxing and useful weekend :)

Tatiana

About
Totally Useless is all about my personal philosophy, and how I interpret what is happening in our lifetime, what is important to us, and how come. It is about all those things that often appear as totally useless but mostly are not.
