There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics…
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009Mark Twain said, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.”
When I heard this quote for the 1st time I had to grin. Next thing – I was laughing out loud. And only after having laughed for a good while, I started pondering about it.
Lies, and damned lies have mostly to do with politics. And from there – with power and money. As we are not talking here about the petty lies in our private lives, but in general, and where these lies do concern us all. And trust me. Everything, all the lies, and all the damned lies will remain until we all stand up and overthrow everything concerning politics and the guys who run the world.
So lets go with the statistics. It’s not necessarily a lie, but a statistic is always based on a certain number which is far less than the total. It is a partial truth here, or not? Than it also depends who executed the statistic, and by whom, it was ordered. In such a case we could end with a well constructed lie.
I am giving the word to you now. Stay Fabulous in the coming times…
