Norman Vincent Peale once said, “Whenever God wants to send you a gift he wraps it up in a problem. The bigger the problem, the bigger the gift”.

Terrific gift was sent to yours truly – metastatic breast cancer. And I keep wondering if the cancer is the problem, than what is the gift under the wraps? Could there really be something under the wraps that I’ll discover shortly? I most definitely hope so, as right now I am so lost and disappointed…

“Carve a tunnel of hope through the dark mountain of disappointment.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Almost two months ago, on October the 6th 2011, I got the terrible news of having breast cancer. Such a shocking and disappointing news indeed is never easy to comprehend, or accept. It’s also not easy to explain the anger, and sadness that goes on inside me. And obviously I want to win the battle against cancer and remain among the living for many years to come. So I started reading and searching online and offline all the info that is available about the cancer that I have – Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), with lymph nodes in the armpit involved.

The treatment suggested by the surgeon is chemotherapy followed by surgery and, than radiation. I declined such harsh treatments due to the possibility of getting pneumonia very easily. My immune system is almost non existent and because I suffer often from flue’s and pneumonia’s, each year. I decided to try various non harsh alternative treatments such as a specific diet combined with the Budwig protocol, vitamins such as B17, and joga.

On the 20th of December I will have another echography test which will show how well my cancer has reacted on the therapies that I am using, or not. The best outcome will be that the tumors have become smaller, and in such a case the treatment will prove to be successful. In the case that the tumors have grown, or remained the same – I will have to reconsider everything and probably agree with the surgeon and oncologist and accept their method of healing.

To my friends and readers – please, pray for me!

Today I read about this girl’s shocking story in both a Dutch and an Austrian news paper sites. Incredibly sad story that makes one wonder what exactly could have gone wrong with the society as we know it now? And is there some possibility to change what’s wrong?
