Joran van der Sloot interviewed in the Castro Castro prison…
At 8:30 p.m. today, RTL4 TV channel in the Netherlands will transmit a special interview with Joran van der Sloot taken by John van den Heulvel and Bert Huisjes voor the Dutch newspaper The Telegraph. In it, among other things, he has been stupid enough to admit that he did con the family of Natalee Holloway, and has been paid $25 000 USD for revealing where her body is. And while the payment was done by the lawyer of Natalee’s family he fled to Peru, where you all know he has been incarcerated in the Castro Castro prison for the murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez. After viewing the interview tonight I will add more info to this post.
In the interview Joran didn’t want to speak about what happened with Stephany Flores Ramirez. He would only answer the judge in regards, and mentioned that it will be against his interests to say whatsoever regarding the case than, and there.
John van den Heulvel kept asking him doesn’t he feel any remorse regarding the pain he is causing to Natalee Holloway’s family with his silence, or the pain of the family of Stephany Flores. Joran answered that he does feel the pain of the family of Stephany Flores. And also for the family of Natalee Holloway, however, he doesn’t have anything new to say in regards of her disappearance. Joran does feel remorse for his decision to cheat on the Holloway family about his knowledge of the whereabouts of the body of Natallee in exchange for money.
Joran has lost some weight during the 3 months in the Castro Castro prison in Lima, Peru. He did look confident, and sure of himself. He did state that he can control his emotions pretty well. He hopes that soon he will be placed together with the general population of inmates in the Castro Castro prison, because he is not able to do any exercises and sport, or get enough air outside while in the special security part of the jail where he is since he became an inmate. Twice a week he is also giving English lessons to some of the guards. When asked how he spnds his time Joran answered that he is reading a lot. And when asked what he is reading is answer was – spiritual books, and about eternal life. Kind of weird as Joran does not live and act like a spiritual person – does he?? Joran also said that he is meditating…
He also knows that if he ever gets out of the Castro Castro prison, he will be transferred ASAP to the USA, and that he risks 50 years in jail for the extortion of cash from the Holloway family.

I agree with Mrs. Van Der Sloot … I think the pressure placed upon her son by the media was too much for anyone to handle. I don’t think Joran should blame himself for his dad’s death … it appears to me he did everything possible to shield him from the get go. Psychotherapy is good … the doctor actually tends to talk about everything in your life other than the painful events in an effort to get you on track again … Wellbutrin is a good anti-depressant … you must not drink while on it and you should never take over 300mgs./day. It’s a slight mood lifter rather than a depressant. My husband and I are both praying for you … I do think you should perhaps have a trusted friend contact him for you so he will be assured you will see him as soon as he realizes he needs help … not because he has a flaw, but because of all the shocks he’s endured the last five years. Anyone would need someone to guide them back. We love you, Peg and Ben
