The Life Wish – a real Castle, and, than the Safest place around
My life wish has always been to live in a real castle. And my mother has never agreed with this wish of mine, while asking me why I would like to live in a museum. And bringing up all the practical issues that are making such a life wish a total nonsense. However – the practical issues, such as, cost of renovations, and cost of energy, and cost of living – could not bother me, and I kept on dreaming about owning my real castle.
So, I keep checking for castles for sale around Europe, and I finally found the one that I’ve been looking for all my life. The castle is on top of a hill and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and unspoiled. There is nothing around but 10 hectare of countryside. There are no neighbors, and the nearest village is 1.5 mile away, and the nearest town is 15 miles away from the hill’s castle. I will only say that the castle is based in the South of France, and that the castle was, build in the XIV century, and renovated in the nineteenth century.
And what is the reason for not sharing more about it? Well, it is not ours as, yet, and I am not going to share it’s address online just the way I am not sharing my address here. Besides, I thought about safety and security as well. Will it be safe to live so far from others? And even if I have security systems installed on the outside and the inside the castle – how long will it take for police to show up once the alarm has gone off? Which makes clear to me that I must have a few panic rooms and safe cores inside the castle where I will be safe until the police shows up.
And because of all these worries about the safety of the castle – if we are to purchase it – a weird synchronicity led me to a news story on Yahoo today. It is about the safest house in the world. And the price tag is huge. Nevertheless it does give one a real sense of safety. Considering it all, it will not be an easy task to fulfill my life wish and buy the castle. As only one third of it has been made habitable up till now, and there are many works left to do. Counting all the costs – it goes far above our possibilities right now.
No matter really as I am definitely going to fulfill this life wish of mine – one way or another. Especially now that I finally found the castle of my dreams. Wish me luck and stay fabulous…

May I visit when you close the deal on the castle. I’ve always wanted to have access to one, or would you charge admission for a tour?
I’ve been to a couple in Bavaria and Austria.

Certainly Gregory, once we have it we’ll invite friends to come and see it for sure. Let us get it first as I have no idea how soon this will be.

I’ve been in a total of two castles. One resides in Disneyland, and the other was the Tower of London. I’d wonder how drafty a castle would be. Is there carpeting? Is a moat optional? So many questions. But, if I had the money, I’d certainly consider picking one up!

Most of the rooms have carpets Herman as heating under the tiles will be a very expensive job all around…

You go girl, lol, but it looks like you are serious, I am sure you will get your castle one day – good luck.

I probably be happy with one or two rooms. I don’t know, with getting older, smaller the better, and cozzier. Anna

Carpeting *and* heating? Well…if we ever win the lottery I’ll be sure to send you a few million so you can purchase the castle of your dreams!
I’m sure the wife and I will move in next door (which, I’m sure, will be a mere 10 miles away
)

Thanks Herman, that will be really nice, as to the 10 miles – put it like at least 130 miles or so, and maybe farther than that
