Is Change OK?
No, for me change is definitely not OK, and I dislike it very much. And even if I feel the urge to change something – than my unconscious mind is trying to persuade me not to do it. Perhaps this is a challenge for the majority to see to it that something changes. Be it in their personal life style – such as loosing 20 pounds, or to take the step and change their job or career. And especially so when something life changing is involved – like what Karl Rebeder did with his fortune – giving it all away in his pursuit of happiness.
More than a month ago I read a post of Seth Godin that struck a tune within me. What exactly do I mean? That not everything is going to be OK when a change is made – no matter how much you wish for it. Nevertheless – too much thinking and pondering is also not OK. And most of the times one should react rapidly instead of loosing time in pondering and thinking instead of acting.
And here is a YouTube video with another view on change that made me smile

I think I like change, at least some changes.
A lot of stuff is not right, so it should be changed.

If we ever expect change to come in every detail of our expectations, then change is not going to be OK for us. Change is everywhere, every living seconds and very much a necessity. Without change we can”t progress. Good or bad that change”s going to depend on us, OURSELVES! We need to take charge of the change and make it work for us.
Tatiana, the video is fantastic! I totally agree. It”s pretty much on the same tune as Eckhart Tolle”s ”The Power of Now”. Great post!

Having gone through a major change myself the last year I speak from experience, change can be good depending how we handle what has happened and how we proceed with our new life, bitter or better.

Definitely Bob, it can be good – especially if you”re the one choosing for it… With that said – I still dislike change – unless there is no other way and i am calling the shots for the change.
And it”s nice to see you here again Bob, and hope all is going well with you and your endeavors – you”ve been missed

You are totally right Wenny – nevertheless I still dislike any changes that happen in a waythat is placing me out of the decision making for it…

Yes Gregory – the stuff that is not good should be changed – no question about it. But I wrote about changes that were unexpected and not asked for to begin with… kind of

Hi Tatiana
I read somewhere that “Every person has at least a dogmatic and superficial philosophy of life based upon his temperament according to which he moulds his activities.” I”m assuming the key word is “moulds” or changes. Like you Tatiana I hate unexpected change and understand your point of view. Changes a person makes in their lives, like losing 20 pounds or quitting smoking are not unexpected and are a conscious choice, that yes, allow you to move forward or positively. But, unexpected change, like losing a job for example, or a death in the family, are not progressive. To attribute progression in our lives to the bad things that happen is not rational to me. Ok I”ve rambled enough. Excellent post and very thought provoking.

Tatiana you know we came through such an evolution, we change weather we know it or not. You probably don”t like drastic changes, and it is okay, but we live with change every day, and me I kind of like change. Hope all is well my friend. Anna

The drastic changes and those without the free will involved in it that I dislike Anna. And the following quote is actually one that goes very well with me: “Life can either be accepted or changed. If it is not accepted, it must be changed. If it cannot be changed, then it must be accepted.” Unknown
