Enlightened? How Soon and How To…
Can any one of us achieve enlightenment? Of course we can, but to become enlightened one has to suffer… And don’t get me wrong please. While most of us would love to be amidst of other enlightened individuals – non of us would like to do the suffering to become one. Examples of enlightened people would be Buddha, and Jesus Christ to name a few here, and we all know that they did suffer.

My problem with suffering derives from the believe that we should be perfect the way we are. “Who claimed this?,” you might ask. Well, the same enlightened teachers of us human beings claim that we are perfect. Yet at the same time, they have become enlightened because of their own suffering. And, than – how can we be perfect yet not enlightened? And do we need to be enlightened? And if so, for what, and for who’s sake? Would love to hear your opinions in regards, so go ahead and let me know…

Love the DOF on the heart photograph. Focusing on an unusual area really gives the photo an interesting vibe.

You do not need enlightenment, in-fact if you want enlightenment, it will never come. Wanting something creates suffering and Enlightenment in short is “The end of suffering.” That is the only explanation Buddha left for us so we could not make it into anything more.

The Acolite Tao, thank you for getting straight to the point of the topic. And I must be very far from Enlightenment given that I suffer. On the other hand, how could I, or whomever else it is, not suffer any longer and be Enlightened when there is so much injustice around us? Or it must be during the last minutes of somebody”s life that the Enlightenment “enters” into the person”s soul and mind making us realize that all the past life was in fact a game, or some kind of drama in the theater of life?

Must it be that enlightenment is only a singular instance, or can it occur in short strings. Are there not moments in which flashes of enlightenment occur in an instant, only to disappear? If the essential progress of enlightenment is measured by suffering, is there not a plurality of momentary pleasure? Enlightenment occurs every day, at once and never.
