What is the secret of being Happy?

How often have you asked yourself the question above? And how often have you searched for the answer on it? To tell you the truth I’ve always been searching for the answer and the once I did find were not satisfactory for me. Or too complicated, or I wasn’t entirely agreeing with what I was reading, like the artcile of Darshan Goswami, M.S., PE – “Simple Secrets to Be Happy”.
I tend to agree more with the view of Abe Linkoln, who said once: “A man is about as happy as He makes up his mind to be.” As to the question: “Can money buy you Happiness”, the answer is no, of course, money makes your life way easier however, and is far better to have an easy life while being unhappy, than have a life filled with struggles and feeling happy once in awhile. Or not?
What I did do is a list of the few pearls that I found in the research, and made these a daily routine for myself.
1) Starting my day with a smile while imagining all the beauties that are waiting for me to be discovered. Such as the photo above. See the colors in there? The vastness and beauty enclosed in it? The light on the horizon?
2) Being grateful for all the blessings that I have in my life. This certainly does help fight bad mood and depressions. Trust me as I know
Every time that I start feeling sorry for myself I call myself and ask – how many things do you have in your life that you’re grateful for? And isn’t it wonderful to be able to be grateful?
3) Be helpful to others. This is one of those things that helps you bring things into prospective. And while helping others you do not think and dwell about your own “problems”. You forget these for the moment, and when you’re able to get back and review these again – solutions seems to be there way more easier than it seemed possible before.
4) Be generous. Yes, that is right. I feel so happy when I am able to give something to someone that I love. Or even to someone that I don’t know. The gesture of giving is making my heart sing
because I am able to see the happiness in their eyes. Trust me, this one is a pearl
5) Happiness and feeling happy is simply a choice we make. We decide that we want to be happy. Now, right this minute, and it is open and free for all of us to feel the way we want. No matter where we are, no matter the circumstances we live in or with. It’s free and it’s there for all to use.
Closing the post of today with an other stunning capture – Blue by Renée Ann Wirick – for you to enjoy my friends, and wishing you a Happy week ahead and a splendid Sunday

Beautiful photos. I think the secret to happiness is simplicity. The more complex we make our lives, the more stressed and unhappy we become.

Are you asking me to probe the human mind and observe what happiness is – or what we mean by happiness
u will have to wait as i need to organise my thoughts before i can write. Meanwhile – the picture of the rose made me close my eyes for a while and I could really feel it – but to me the rose is you

Thank you HM for your comment, and yes, simplicity is a key to the Kingdom of Happiness
We humans tend to discard simplicity because nothing good, or beautiful, or wonderful could ever be simple (in our minds at least). We are making our lives overly complicated because of it, unfortunately so. Not for nothing there is the saying: “Less is often more…”

Yes happiness truly depends on ourselves. We can make ourselves happy by thinking positive things in live no matter how and what negative things that happens in our lives. Well, what do we get for brooding over things that we can”t do anything about? We always have our choice…and the choice to be happy is definitely a good choice no matter what.

Great images. Relaxing. Thought provoking. They really get under the skin and make you think about things. I also admired the young star, and was saddened to hear that such a youthful talent had to leave us.
Keep up the good work, and have a nice day.
