Cute and funny, but still totally useless?
In Telegraph today I read an article about the worries of Natural Monuments, a Dutch Organization for the preservation of nature, that because of the explosive boom of digital photography online there are too many amateur photographers in the woods and surroundings causing harm to animals. And what is the harm caused exactly you might ask? In the article they explain into great length that foxes are fed salty meet to have them drink while shooting the photos, or using all kind of tricks to get them on the road. Toads are sprinkled with stuff to get them stay quit, and many other harmful tricks.
While I loved the photo exhibited here, as it looks very cute and fun, and the colors are between my favorites, I wonder how the owner of the lizards and the couches got them to perform these tricks and behave like humans. On the photo the photographer has placed the following explanation:
“Yes Way
I swear on my life this is 100% real. I was walking down the street looking for stuff to photograph and this guy is just sitting outside a coffee shop with this 80 year old woman and he is taking these little sofa things out of a bag. Then he opens another compartment in the bag and there are about five lizards like this guy. Then he would pose them, and they would just sit there like this. Don’t really know why.
He didn’t really explain much but he did say they take about three months to train them to do this. I didn’t bother asking if he only trained his lizards to sit in relaxing human posses or if there were other ones too. The whole thing was just to oddly perfect, I really didn’t need him to go into detail.
Also I like the surprising detailed craftsmanship of the sofa. Now I can say I’ve truly seen it all!”
I have to admit that if presented with the opportunity to make such an exceptional shot without having caused any harm to the animal myself – I would. No question about that. I would have asked though what methods did they use to train the lizards, as it puzzles me after having read the mentioned above article. Makes you wonder – cute and fun combined with beauty, and yet totally useless or not?

I wonder how much free time one must have and how bored one must be to take the time to train a lizard to lounge on a mini sofa.
How did he even come up with the idea? I mean was he just sitting there watching TV and said to himself, “You know, it would be mighty cool if I built mini couches and trained some reptiles to sit on them?”
Neat trick but I think he may need a girlfriend or something….

LOL AntiBarbie, heheheh. But you must admit it looks so cool to see the lizard(s) lying on such a perfectly made mini sofa in a way that a human would do
And I couldn’t actually comprehend how did the owner of sofa’s and lizards do it. It looks quasi impossible to me, unless the liards have been drugged ro so, but who knows, maybe I am too paranoid when it regards animals.

Hehehe, I am not sure if he is smiling or not Bob, but he looks so cool, and amazingly similar to a CEO enjoying some rest after coming home from his job…well, the only thing missing is actually a perfect tiny glass with scotch, don’t you think, in one of his hands
